The Coronation (Part 2 of Championship Tournament)

The conclusion to our Post-Season Tournament (and final tournament of the 2019 Summer Flings Calendar) will be determined by the player with the most points in the 2nd half of the 2019 Season.

With 29 points, Tim Fuller scored the most points in the 2nd half of the 2019 Season and has won the ability to select where we will play the Concluding Round of the 2019 Championship Tournament.

Tim has chosen Forest Park in Brazil, Indiana as the location of this weekend’s concluding round. The Champion of the 2019 Season will be announced at this event!

Since the course selected is outside of Bloomington, there will be carpool options available. Please contact Tim Fuller if you are interested in driving or need to find a carpool to the tournament. All players will be notified of the departure time one week before tournament day.

This will be our only tournament that is not a random-draw card. The Lead Card will comprise of the previous week’s top finishes (handicaps included). Every group will start on Hole 1. The Chase Card will start the tournament. The Lead Card will begin 10 minutes after the Chase Card has finished Hole 1.

There is a $1 Ace Pot available, but there is no Chuck-It Bucket this week. The remaining pot will carry over to the 2020 Season.

This week we are traveling to Mooresville, Indiana to play the Mt. Gilead Disc Golf Course. Approximately 45 minutes outside of Bloomington, Mt Gilead is a popular course to many Indiana natives. With it’s mix of dog-legs, open, and woodsy holes, it has the perfect blend to test a player's ability to hit small gaps and choose correctly between a backhand or forehand shot. Players must be able to scramble on this course since a single errant shot can lead to a big number if you can’t find creative ways around obstacles.

There is a $1 Ace Pot and a $1 Chuck-it Bucket so please bring your singles if you want to enter either pot (or both)!

The Hawk Stone Classic (3rd of 4 Majors)

The Karst Farm Park Disc Golf Course has a new layout this year. Overall, there were only a few holes changed but the feel of the course is different enough to rattle inconsistent players and wreak havoc on new players to the game.

The entire course is Par 3 so a bad shot off of the tee will require skillful scrambling to save par. Only a few holes are considered “Easy Birdies” so performing well on those holes is paramount to keeping up with the leaders. This course is not about flash, but rather substance and accurate shot-making. Everyone in Bloomington is familiar with this course so there will be no surprises to the field of players. The most consistent people will perform the best and mitigating a bad shot with a great one will be required to come out on top.

There is a $1 Ace Pot and a $1 Chuck-it Bucket so please bring your singles if you want to enter either pot (or both)!
